VolkerLaser is one of the UK’s foremost multi-functional contractors, offering a wide range of infrastructure services, including planning, construction, strengthening and refurbishments.

VolkerLaser was contracted by National Highways to install an impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) system across 24no spans beneath the M5. As part of the project’s requirements, VolkerLaser needed to ensure round-the-clock security of the site and control access at the site’s entrances. As the site had multiple entrance gates spread across four compounds, VolkerLaser sought a mix of manned guards and CCTV surveillance in order to ensure 24/7 security.

VolkerLaser put the security contract out for tender and Nation secured the full site security package including an extensive CCTV package and the use of our manned guards for all entry gates operationally 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We were applauded by VolkerLaser for the continuous peace of mind we gave them. . Thanks to direct lines of communication, VolkerLaser’s management and HR were also able to receive CCTV tapes on request, making it easy for project managers to oversee who entered and exited the site.

In addition, the well-presented guards suitably impressed VolkerLaser’s client. The guards were not only well-spoken, helpful and attentive, asking the client all the right questions on approaching the site, but we ensured that all Nation staff had our clients branding on our high vis jackets to enhance the professional perception of VolkerLaser’s site management.
